I entered the United States Army in 1973 and was stationed in Frankfort, Germany.

I attended Ball State University and graduated from Indiana University at Indianapolis with a MS degree in nursing in 1985 and an MS degree in nursing in 1990. I was licensed as a Registered Nurse and a Nurse Practitioner.

I married Cynthia J. Crane of New Castle on June 5, 1982 and we had a son named James in 1988. My wife is a 4th grade teacher in the New Palestine School District and my son is an attorney for the Department of Child Services for Indiana in Southern Indiana.

I then worked for 19 years for the State of Indiana Prison System as a Nurse Practitioner and retired in 2015.

I was raised to The Sublime Degree of a Master Mason on April 23, 2007 at New Castle Lodge #91 F & AM. I was Worshipful Master in 2013 and currently serving in that chair for the second time. I am a Senior Ritualist and am close to having enough point to become a Master Ritualist. I have been made an Honorary Member of Markleville Lodge, Lewisville Lodge, Matthews Lodge and Delaware Lodge.

I took my York Rite Degrees through Mt. Moriah #52 in Anderson in 2012.I transferred to Middletown Chapter #143 in 2013 and to the York Rite bodies in Greenfield in 2015.
